Learning to Understand Women

why don't men ask for directions?

This topic is not about to women, but then men and women walk together side by side.
One thing that really bothers me , personally, is that why cann't men just ask for directions when they are lost. Why do they have to go all over the place burning the fuel , waiting the time. Whats the big deal? Guys! , anybody listening!!?

Solving a problem on their own gives a man immense satisfaction, particularly if there is a lady whom he can impress. I know a friend who was trying to repair his car (apparently to impress his fiancee) but ended up totally dismantling the car, never to make it whole again. Another friend of mine was trying to repair his computer himself, but made a short-circuit and boom goes the computer!

Somewhere inside them, these two men had a desire, that if they succeed, it'll prove their "superior technical-analytical problem-solving abilities", but both went horribly wrong.

That's my opinion.

I really least encountered this kind of male behavior. I seldom seen any of my male friends not to ask for directions, if they are lost.Could presence of female change any outcome? Let me tell my observation in three situations...
1. I am alone and lost: Asking direction is the first thing that I would do, as I am least fond of beating around the bushes.
2. I am with company of one or more male friends, and we are lost: Again, either me, or some of my friend ask for direction, the moment we realize we are lost.
3. Don't know what my frenz do, but if I am with a gal: Again either I ask for direction, or the gal asks before me. But nowhere it is because I was resisting myself to solve this problem on my own.
